Tales of Rebirth was the last original 2D Tales of game for the Playstation 2. The game boasts beautiful, highly-detailed sprites running around in gorgeous handdrawn backdrops. The game uses a three-line battle system. This allows players to jump between three planes while on the battlefield. This allows for much more intense battles. Most consider this to be the best 2D Tales of game.
Tales of Rebirth also features the character designs of Mitsumi Inomata, the internationally renowned Japanese artist acclaimed for her work on the Tales of Series.
