Tales of the World: Radianyt Mythology returns with Flex-Range Linear Motion Battle System originally found in Tales of the Abyss for the Playstation 2. This systems allows for an option titled "Free Run," which allows the player to travel freely anywhere on the battlefield, no longer constricting them to a single line. Also, players can target areas of the battlefield instead of just certain enemies, giving them a greater range and a serious advantage. Unfortunately, there are no Field of Fonons in Radiant Mythology, and in turn, no FOF-customizable moves.
Throughout the game, players will be able to utilize Unison Attacks. When a character falls into Overlimits, the player is able to begin a Unison attack, in which all of the present characters begin a simultaneous strike on a single enemy. Fortunately, there is no TP cost for any skills used during a unison attack, giving the player the upper hand.
Just as in all the preious Tales games, players are able to perform a Mystic Arte when their character falls into Overlimits. These flashy attacks have a high TP cost, but the massive damage they inflict is well worth it. Unfortunately, the Mystic Artes in Radiant Mythology do not quite reach the standard set by previous Tales games, as they lack cut-ins or much "wow" factor.
