The standard role set for characters in previous games (brawler, swordsman, healer, etc.) have been abolished, and replaced with a system in which the player can set a characters "style." Characters will level up and learn new abilities based on what "style" that have been assigned to.
Now, the A.I. can be completely customized to do exactly as the player wants. Each character has 5 slots that can each be equipped with a different priority.
A guild system similar to Radiant Mythology will be used in Innocence, where GRADE points are exchanged for materials and Guild Points are exchanged for special items. Unlike Radiant Mythology, Tales of Innocence will have a more linear story structure, and the guild system will be some sort of side-quest.
Weapons can now be fully customized by adding materials and fusing them, creating your own original weapons.
