Tales of Destiny 2 was the first to appear on the Sony Playstation 2. The battles herelded more realistically purportioned sprites more akin to Tales of Eternia. It was also the last 2D Tales game where battles took place on one plane. The game is also being ported to the Playstation Portable.
Tales of Destiny also features the character designs of Mitsumi Inomata, the internationally renowned Japanese artist acclaimed for her work on the Tales of Series.
