Cooking

A new cooking system has been implemented into Tales of the Abyss. When players find recipes and ingredients, they can create food that can be later used as a healing item. Recipes can be learned by talking to townspeople or through certain events. Ingredients can be found just about anywhere, from treasure chests in dungeons to a prize from a fallen enemy. Every time a character cooks a recipe, they get better at it. Once they master the recipe, they will be able to add their own unique touches to it.

Skits

Tales of the Abyss will also feature skits, portions of the game where animated picutres of the characters have conversations. Instead of having solely face chats, where only the face is only shown, or body chats, where the whole body was shown, skits in Abyss will be a mixture of the two.

Mieu/Sorcerer's Ring

Mieu, the small, rabbit like creature, come epuipped with a socerer's ring around it's belly. Players will be able to use this Sorcerer's Ring to solve puzzles in dungeons much like they did in Tales of Symphonia.
