Fon Slot Chamber Guide by Ryuuko Metsugajin

FSC = Fon slot Chamber

What they do

FSCs are extremely helpful. These chambers can increase strength of certain attacks, decrease casting time, steal from enemies, and much more. First what you have to know is that: there are four different kinds of FSCs; Carmine, Cobalt, Grass, and Sunlight. Each of the four has its own special effect, which is explained in the appropriate section. But first:

How do they work?

FSCs, like above, enhance the abilities of a particular skill. You will notice that when equipped to a skill, there are six circles. You’ll see that only one of the circles will be filled. This means there is only a small chance of the effect working. How do you solve this? Simple!

For this example, we’ll use Luke’s Fang Blade. Let’s say that I want to make Fang Blade stronger. I would go to my FSC Menu in the Battle Menu. I would then select Fang Blade, and equip it with a Carmine Chamber (see below for each type of Chamber). You may know that Carmine Chambers increase strength.

Next, I will see that only one circle is filled. Since there is a low-percentage of the effect working. (NOTE: You will know the effect is working when the words “FSC Effect” appear when using the skill) However, every time I were to use Fang Blade 20 times, another circle would fill in. With each circle filled, there is a higher percentage of the FSC effect working. Eventually, when all six circles are filled, the effect will happen 100% of the time!

Carmine Chambers

Carmine Chambers are colored red in the FSC menu. These chambers will do only one of the following (depending on the tech):

  • On arte techs that damage the enemy, they will simply increase the amount of damage dealt by the equipped skill.
  • On healing skills, they will increase the amount of HP recovered (even for Resurrection).
  • On other skills, such as Recover, Sharpness, and others, they simply increase the effectiveness.
  • Cobalt Chambers

Cobalt Chambers are colored blue in the FSC menu. These chambers will do only one of the following (depending on the tech):

  • On arte techs that deal damage to the enemy, they will increase the power to push, lift, or send the enemy flying. For instance, if equipped on Luke’s Rending Thrust, it may send the enemy higher into the air. However, even if the skill doesn't necessarily lift, push, or send the enemy flying, it will still say that effect.
  • On some spells, such are Sharpness or Scare Shot, these chambers increase the length of effectiveness.
  • On most healing and damaging spells, these chambers allow you to be able to move right after casting; a.k.a. recovery time.
  • These chambers have no effect on skills like Center (Guy).
  • On Skills like Guardian, the stagger effect becomes invalid for a limited amount of time.
  • Grass Chambers

Grass Chambers are colored green in the FSC menu. These chambers will do only one of the following (depending on the tech):

Stealing. I know everyone wants to know how to steal. Basically, when equipped, you have a chance of stealing something from the enemy. However, stealing works best on only certain techs! (See below)

  • On a tech such as Steel, Grass Chambers add a small healing effect. So, if you use Steel, you can not only increase your chance of a critical hit, but also increase your HP by a small amount.
  • On non-stealing skills and spells, Grass Chambers reduce the amount of TP used when casting the spell.
  • There are other small effects given to some different skills. (See below Stealing skills!)
  • Skills that are best for Stealing:

  • Luke: Raging Blast
  • Luke: Swallow Fury
  • Tear: Banishing Sorrow
  • Jade: Thunder Lance
  • Anise: Eagle Dive
  • Anise: Surge Breaker
  • Guy: Final Cross
  • Guy: Void Tempest
  • Natalia: Aerial Laser
  • Special Grass Chamber Effects for Skills:

First Aid - Adds cure poison effect
Cavalry - Adds an HP recovery effect
Recover - Adds an HP recovery effect
Lucky - Adds an HP recovery effect
Steel - Adds an HP recovery effect
Mighty Charge - Adds an HP recovery effect

    Sunlight Chambers

Sunlight Chambers are colored yellow in the FSC menu. These chambers will always do the same effect:

  • These chambers allow skills be to used in a low-level FOF circle. In case you have no idea what that means, I shall explain.
  • Since some skills have no FOF link, a Sunlight Chamber would have no effect.
  • Low-level FOF circles

You have probably noticed that sometimes, FOF circles appear on the field, but they are white and not glowing. Normally, you wouldn’t be able to use an FOF link inside of them, but with a Sunlight Chamber, you can!

*For a list on FOF skills, check out the Skills Guide!

Where do I get these FSC Chambers?

They are everywhere! In most dungeons there is at least one of any kind. In later dungeons, you can get three or four. Sunlight Chambers, however, are very rare. You *probably* won't get a Sunlight Chamber until quite far into the game. However, there are a few later bosses that you can steal Sunlight Chambers and Grass Chambers from. How funny is it, that FSCs help you get MORE Chambers.

Also, thanks to kryptonite, there are a few more useful ways to get these chambers:

Carmine: While in Theor Forest, come out of hiding and fight the Malkuth Soldiers. Stealing Carmines is most effective. You can also do this in Rugnika Plains, but this has no drawback. Certain enemies in the arena also have this to steal, but it's more effective to abuse Theor Forest.

Cobalt: During the Rugnika Plains event, fight the Kimlascan soldiers and steal these from them. You give up on Hourglass, Magical Pouch, Ether Slash, and an Apple Gel, though.

Grass: You can farm these by stealing from Jabberwockies in Mt. Roneal's extension.

Sunlight: You can farm these by stealing from SD3 and running.

Can I have more than one of a different type of chamber on the same skill?

    Unfortunately, no you cannot.
